How do I find a loved one’s grave?

May I plant flowers at my loved one’s grave?
Yes, you may plant live annual flowers in the flowerbed on the grave side of the marker adjoining the grave's marker (the flowerbed is the same size as the marker). If you have a monument lot, you may plant flowers adjoining the monument on the grave side of the monument. Owners of graves on both sides of the monument may plant flowerbeds on both sides of the monument. Please call us if you have questions.

What decorations may I leave?
Please review our decoration policies – the rules vary depending on whether you have a traditional grave, a mausoleum crypt, a cremation grave or a columbarium niche.

What are my options for burial at Union Cemetery?
For Cremation Options, please see our Cremation Interment options.
For Full Casketed Options, please see our Full Casketed Interment options.

What if I want traditional burial and my spouse wants to be cremated?
We offer what’s called “second right of interment,” which means that you can place cremated remains in a traditional grave with a casket.

What are the advantages of pre-planning?
Purchasing cemetery property in advance has several advantages, including sparing your loved ones from making these decisions while grieving, buying at today’s prices, and being able to choose what you would like for your final resting place.

Do you sell monuments and markers?
Yes, we have a variety of monuments and markers for purchase. Visit our memorial options page for more information. You can also contact us for more information. Please note: In order to maintain our nonprofit status, we may only sell monuments and markers for use in Union Cemetery.

What are vaults?
Vaults line the outer edges of a grave to help protect the grave from caving in. They help maintain the appearance of the surface above the grave, and prevent visitors from walking over uneven surfaces throughout the cemetery. Vaults are required for traditional in-ground casket graves. They are not required for above-ground spaces. You can purchase a vault from Union Cemetery.

Do you have a special section for children?
Yes, we have a special area of graves for children only. It features a comforting monument. The flowers around the monument are planted and maintained by cemetery staff.
