A standard single flat marker lot may have one casketed burial and up to three more cremated remains interments buried on top of the casketed burial. One 2-foot by 1-foot granite flat marker (flush with the ground) is allowed for memorialization.

Upright Monument Lot Block 1B & 1C
With an upright monument lot, you must purchase 2 graves to have space to accommodate an upright monument. With a two grave monument lot you can have two casketed burials and up to six more cremated remains interments buried on top of the casketed burials. One monument is allowed for memorialization, and must be within our rules and regulations.

The cost for a 2 grave Monument Lot on block 1B and the back of 1C is at a discounted price compared to the rest of the cemetery due to the proximity of the lots to Minnehaha Ave, and the back fence line.

Union Cemetery can schedule burial times Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) 8:30am through 3:00pm with a 2 business day notice.
The vault lid, or urn must be placed by 3:30pm and family have departed by that time to allow our staff time to complete the interment.
We do allow for Saturday burials (excluding holidays) 8:30am through 1:30pm, overtime fee applies.
The vault lid, or urn must be placed by 2:00pm and family have departed by that time to allow our staff time to complete the interment.
We do not allow for burials outside the times quoted above, and on Sundays.

Casketed Above-Ground
Mausoleum Crypts
A Mausoleum Crypt is an above ground building with a granite facade. A full-casketed body is placed within the unit, the unit is then sealed, and granite facade placed back on the outside. A burial vault is not needed with the use of a Mausoleum Crypt. A single crypt can accomodate one standard sized casket.
A brass nameplate is included in the price of the Mausoleum Crypt.

The cost of a Mausoleum Crypt varies on which Mausoleum building you choose, and also the location of the crypt (typically the crypts that are eye level are the most expensive).
All of our Mausoleum Units consist of 4 levels. The top level roughly 9 feet off the ground, the second to the top level is roughly 7 feet off the ground, the second to bottom is roughly 4 feet off the ground, and the bottom level is right off the ground.

Entombment is the cost for the actual placing of the casket(opening & closing) in the crypt, plus the record keeping of the burial.
This cost cannot be prepaid and will be due at the time of death.

Cremation In-Ground
Ossuary
A ossuary is a container that houses cremated remains. Unlike a columbarium, an ossuary houses serveral unrelated cremated remains, and once those remains are placed, cannot be retreived. It is truly a final resting place. Our Ossuary is housed in the middle of our Roman Columbarium. The middle of the Roman Columbarium has an empty vault chamber where cremated remains are placed. Cremated remains that are placed within our ossuary cannot be in a standard urn, they are required to be placed in a velvet urn bag (included in the price).
A place in the ossuary cannot be pre-paid. It is purchased when you are ready to place the cremated remains.
All deceased cremated bodies placed inside our ossuary are memorilized on one of the brick pavers around the Roman Columbarium. One line of text engraved on a brick is included in the price inurnment within the ossuary.

Cremation Grave
A standard cremation grave may only have one cremation interment. One 8-inch by 16-inch granite flat marker (flush with the ground) is allowed for memorialization.

Ossuary

Columbarium Niches
A Columbarium is an above ground building with a granite facade. Behind each granite panel is a container where cremated remains are placed. It is a unit where an urn is placed, once placed the unit is sealed, and granite facade is placed back on the outside. Although there are some variations, our columbarium units are typically 10.5" x 10.5" x 10.5". We do however have units that are larger to accomodate larger urns. You can purchase the right for 1 inurnment, or the right for 2 inurnments.
The cost of a columbarium includes a nameplate, weekday inurnment of cremated remains, and for all the units except our least expensive unit, a flower vase.
